In response to a colleague asking if a coup would be successful:
"As long as the US is weak and unwilling to support the coup from a distance (not trying to control it or dictate it) I don't see it being effective. I see it potentially being worse, after a period of perceived peace, if you will? Kind of like a trafficked person or slave who escapes and is then recaptured...it is often worse for them after.
I am not sure that anything will go well anywhere as long as the US is so weak and vulnerable and I am afraid we have lost our global power all together and it seems we have reached a point of no return. We'd have to have a really respected and powerful POTUS who has the balls to military up in a most diplomatic way for there to be any positive changes. Frankly, I don't see this happening with the power of social media and internet access in formerly restricted areas. Meaning, all sides everywhere are using social media to their advantage, and now with Ai, the environment and war(s) are really changing rapidly. One can hardly even find truth anymore.
I am no exert on Iran but it seems one of the best strategies at this point, ironically, will be a huge social media campaign/war to raise awareness and truth across the globe. And...what is truth? Well, you and I both know, that depends."
